Growing Methods

At Great Hill Growers, it all starts with a seed. We like to lean into the diversity and resilience that comes from growing by seed (as opposed to propagating clones), and feel that it provides a product that is able to interact and respond to the land. We're proud to partner with our friends at Seed and Soil to source potent and flavorful genetics that are well adapted to the (sometimes harsh) New England Climate. The seeds are sprouted in Vermont Compost potting soil in our greenhouse, powered only by the sun.

Once our plants are big and strong enough to thrive in the elements, we plant them directly in the earth without tilling. We do this to prevent erosion, preserve the active biological web within the soil, and allow our plants to interact with the native environment, developing a complexity unique to our land. Our grow site was a cow pasture for over 100 years and is teeming with nutrients! By preserving the naturally rich soil, we are able to grow cannabis with very few inputs, and any amendments we do use are certified organic.

Harvesting Methods

All of our cannabis is carefully processed by hand, ensuring the precious trichomes we have worked all season to develop are left intact. Because this method allows us to get up close and personal with each and every bud, we are able to ensure that our end products are consistent and of the highest quality. Most of our cannabis is fresh-frozen for processing into endless delicious products, however we do also offer dried flower as well!
